Classical Savion

We are going to see Savion Glover tonight ! I am really, really excited. In the early 80's (along with some other kids) I once shared the stage with Savion Glover and Jerry Orbach at the Roxy Roller Rink as part of some sort of fund raising benefit. Jerry Orbach sang Try to Remember the Days in September. The Roxy had long ceased to be the hippest most hedonistic roller rink in the world, and Jerry Orbach had yet to have his television comeback. Checking out 'fab five freddies' faded tag as we sang our wholesome songs, remains one of my more surreal memories. I also remember every one whispering in reverance when Savion arrived, even then probably about 13 years old, he was a star. I cant wait to see him dance now !
