Apparently we had another typhoon Saturday, crazy sheets of rain and wind. We foolishly tried to run a few errands but got beaten back inside where everyone else was sensibly seeing out the storm. (How could they know ?) Sunday however, as is usually the way with typhoons, was absolutely gorgeous. You could even see Fuji-san from Tokyo. We spent the whole day out at Odaiba - taking a picnic from Miri's for the first time after having said 100 times, "we should bring a picnic out here. " Around sunset as we were trying to walk off our picnic we ran into a Thai festival on the other side of the island (aka landfill) and stuck around for green curry and spring rolls. It was kind of romantic to see curries and odd ingredients bubbling away under little stalls in the evening light. To hear the Thai language over the whir of generators. Not exactly a Thai beach, but with a little Singha and a lot of imagination it almost felt like travel. Trying hard to get a picture of me and Marlena to match the one of M & O in Nikko, probably trying a little too hard .....
