We went to a great ( and very dark ) Udon restaurant on Saturday. So many Udon places allege to be famous - I had my doubts when O suggested this one, I am more of a Soba noodle girl anyway. But these were some tasty noodles. The noodles we chose were thinner then usual and served in giant wooden bowls that looked suspiciously like the bowls you get for bathing with at the Onsen. Along with tempura they came with broth on the side to which you could add leek, fresh ginger, quail egg (I skipped that one ) and sesame you grind yourself with a little pestle and mortar. Mmmm, something new to add to my miss list.
