We went to the more traditionally Malay and Arab area of Kampong Glam Sunday. A bit foolish - if we had gone as little as 3 days ago during Ramadan the streets would have been lively and full of people breaking the days fast & smoking hookahs ... Instead it was the weekend following the last day of Ramadan and it was very quiet. Many cafes and shops where closed. Still I was glad to finally get there. We did have mint tea in the shadow of the Sultan Mosque and heard the call to prayer. V had a blast crawling around a covered hut at the Malay Heritage Center.
