Saturday we went to Pasir Ris park on the North East tip of Singapore to try something a bit different. I thought that was Malaysia across the water, but it is Pulau Ubin an island in the straits with Malaysia behind it. The park was sleepy and large and it took us awhile to get oriented. Not something you can really afford to do in the heat with the babes. Towards the end of the day after a desperate retreat to a nearby cheesy mall for food and air conditioning we found the heart of the park. Busy with Sri Lankan construction workers playing cricket - some with planks of wood for bats and tree branch wickets. And the goal of our quest, Singapores largest playground nestled in trees right by the shore. We were all hot and tired so didn't stay long. It is a bit farther out then most places we have ventured but I imagine the sleepy green nature of the place will lure us back.
