a new vice

who wants prata ?

We have started a new fairly bad habit. Roti Prata weekend breakfast. It is such mayhem here in the mornings now, with G pounding his little shoes against the door from the minute he wakes, that we have to get out fast. This usually means no breakfast and little coffee for adults. Out of desperation we discovered Roti Prata and Kopi-C breakfasts at the food courts. Roti Prata is a thick fried bread served hot off a flat grill with curry on the side for dipping. The kids love it minus the curry and kick up an unholy fuss waiting as its always made to order. Kopi is the local coffee, so strong and dark it is impossible even for me to drink it without the customary heaps of sugar or sweetened condensed milk. This stuff gets you going. It is a real laborers breakfast, most Roti Prata stands close by mid-morning. Probably a good thing, though thinking I wouldn't mind a mug of Kopi-C right now.
