trees no baubles

The Danish Seamen's Church

G escapes on O's shoulders

We started the weekend with the Christmas Bazaar at the Danish Seamen's Church. Located in a beautiful old black and white building on Mt Faber. I was picturing wandering from room to garlanded room pointing out trees to the kids and perhaps picking up a few tasteful baubles. Ha, it was a madhouse. Two jammed packed rooms, experienced Danes bee lining for pine sprigs and whatever delicacies they eat for Christmas. We lasted for about 5 minutes before fighting our way out drenched in sweat and each of us about to breakdown in our own way.

I had been counting on a snack and a drink for the kids there - so as they cried WATER in the back of the car we made our way up to the top of Mount Faber for some juice and a view. This is where you can catch the cable car over to Sentosa. It was really quiet and empty. Shame its not like The Peak in Hong Kong, full of cheesy splendor, but it looks like there might be a few good walks around there.

The next day apparently not having had enough Nordic Frenzy we went to Ikea in hopes of finding more Christmas decorations (there were none) and ... Potties. I think the kids think Ikea is a giant dolls house. They were giddy and wild. But hey, lovely green potties for $4.90 Hurray !

Finally we went to Pasir Ris. We have not been in so long. At least 6-7 weeks. It was so beautiful - and breezy ! The kids were delightful and happy bounding across the grass - just what I think we all really needed.
