decibel through wayland's whiskers Tomorrow we are off for Vietnam and Laos for 20 days. Woo Hoo. Its been like pulling teeth planning this holiday, I dont exactly know why, but in the end, actually the very, very last minute we have come up with a pretty sweet plan. We aim to hang out in Hanoi for a few days, then cycle through rice paddies to various villages where we will stay in stilt houses with local families, (not particularity my favorite accommodation but part of an NGO responsible tourism initiative - and the only way to visit some of these areas) after that we will kayak for a few days in Halong Bay, a beautiful archipelago of karst islands that has been designated a UNESCO world heritage site -(we get to sleep on a junk in the bay which probably beats those stilt houses) Then to Luang Prabang to cruise the Mekong and explore caves and generally chill. Cant help but feel insanely fortunate. Doubt I'll be online much, but if for some reason it happens, I'll say a quick hello.
