We are back ... feels like we have been gone for ages. It is funny to come back 'home' to Tokyo, where we cant speak the language either, but its nice to get properly unpacked after three weeks, squeeze the cats, make breakfast in your own kitchen ... so I guess, Tokyo is home. It was an excellent trip, and great to be on the road again. It is such a giddy feeling to navigate through new places. Arriving at night, a train station or airport can be a completely daunting sensory overload, and then a few days later it all seems so familiar and easy. The trip sort of fell into different chapters, each with highlights that rivaled the others, and indeed rivaled some of our all time favorite trips. So much to tell I dont know where to begin. Kayaking in Vietnam's Halong bay, (above) was just amazing. We had our own boat, with a crew serving up fresh seafood every day, not particularily luxerious, but ridiculously sweet. But then the next legs of the trip, hiking in northern Vietnam, and taking little wooden boats up and down Mekong in Laos impressed us just as much. And Hanoi, is a very cool city. I am sorting through photos of which there are a fair few and hope to set up, yes, ... another blog, to recount a few of our exploits.
