Senjogahara Plateau

Not daunted by the rain, we had two very nice hikes on Saturday and Sunday. The first of which climbed past a waterfall along the river to the Sanjogahara Plateau. An expansive marsh with cuckoo birds calling out in the rain, and deer winding their way through the tall grasses. It was great to be able to look out over the marsh and get such a feeling of nature and space. And all this just a few hours outside of Tokyo. The trail picked up the river again, climbed past another massive waterfall, and ended at this quiet lake.
