Wednesday, the belle Courtney, (who moved here with her husband about a month ago) and I went out to the Yakuo-in Temple atop Takao-san. Takao is a wee mountain about an hour outside of Tokyo, that I have been curious about for sometime now. But it doesnt feel so wee in the middle of August especially as we skipped the chairlift and opted to make the pilgrimage on foot. Which was either very commendable or utterly foolish, cause it was unbelievably humid, like hiking in a sauna. But the temple was beautiful and so tranquil on a quiet weekday. When we had recovered from the heatstroke we found a typically beautiful little spot for some cold soba noodles.

you are ready, grasshopper
