My mom taught me a very appropriate expression this weekend. "Sucker hole" - when you see a patch of blue in the clouds and think the weather is going to turn. Between lashings of rain we had a sucker hole that spanned a few hours Sunday and managed to get out to this 'neo-Palladian villa' near our less then palladian home. For some reason we always forget about it, but it made for a nice change of scenery. Monday morning now and the driving rain is back. Hopefully there will be a sucker hole big enough for Gammy's plane to take off in, even if we would much prefer it if she stayed !
