Uggh, can you see the smoke in the air ? Cause you can really see it here. We are swamped in a thick smokey haze caused by fires in Sumatra. I think the fires are a result of the slash and burn technique of harvesting. I remember covering this (at the AP ) years ago, but forgot all about it. This particular haze, apparently the worst since 2006, is expected to last 3 more days. Sigh. I am not sure how long the whole slash and burn season lasts, but I hope its short. Thick smokey haze not something you want for those with fledgling lungs.
