I have been wanting to check out these gardens for sometime, and with Gammy here we had extra incentive to try something new and 'cultural'. The area surrounding the gardens is heavily populated with massive Housing Development Blocks, and the garden is hemmed in by large busy roads. First impressions were a little disappointing. But I ended up being charmed, and as usual curious to go back. At a different time of day ...also as usual we somehow ended up scurrying for shade at high noon. Apparently the gardens were built in 1975, perhaps concurrent with the nearby housing blocks, but the gorgeous Chinese Pavilions showed no wear.
