Gammy came over this morning to walk M to school, and it was a perfect day for it because M's school celebrated Deepavali today. (The Hindu festival of lights, one of the most important Hindu festivals) An arrangement of flowers and candles greeted us at the office door, and many of the children were dressed in Indian finery. The boys looked so handsome. It would appear M agreed. The kids got henna decorations, made pretty little paper oil lamps and ate Biryani and Indian sweets. I previously had visions of whisking a jet lagged Gammy off to Little India, to check out celebration preparations and buy M a sari, but, eh, it never happened. Quite serendipitously a dress that Gammy and Doodah sent from the US, fit perfectly for the occasion. And while we did not make it to Little India I love that M's school gives us at least the tiniest taste of the celebrations. Happy Deepavali !
