the live turtle museum

The Giant Tortoise pictures reminded me that I have yet to post anything about our visit to the 'live turtle museum' at the Jurong Chinese Gardens while Aunt K was here. We stopped off at the Chinese gardens on our way home from the zoo. The gardens were still decorated with flags and lanterns from Chinese New Years which was a pleasant surprise, but the impressive bonsai garden was closed for renovation. To be opened 'when ready'. The kids were tired and hungry and hyper. Naturally we let them lose in the 'live turtle museum' . Which boasts a lot of live turtles, as well as an incredibly kitsch collection of all things turtle. Like turtle ash trays from Mexico. The twins, already over stimulated, ran up and down the aisles of tanks many marked 'danger it bites' shouting something like 'turtle'. I was a nervous wreck, but at least V got a new word out of it.
